Between 1969 and 1971, Ari worked on a suite of 12 microdrawings using a crow quill and india ink on Strathmore paper. He tried to focus upon entering the worlds of microbiology, particle physics, and astrophysics through the drawing medium. This journey was a process of discovering a visual vocabulary to reveal the new landscape of art and science, as stated in the title of a 1956 book by Gyorgy Kepes.
It was after he completed the series that he spent the summer of 1971 with Dr. Roman Vishniac in New York City experiencing his interpretation of the art and science universe through photomicroscopy.
